Buying a Dermabrasion or Microdermabrasion Machine? Read This First

What is Dermabrasion?

Dermabrasion is a process in which a dermatologist or plastic surgeon "sharps" the skin using specialized devices. This grinding or shaving action improves skin contours as it scrapes away the top layer of skin, revealing smooth new skin.

The word "dermabrasion" is simple. "Derm" means "skin" and "abrasion" means "the process of scraping or abrading something." The word itself means "to scrape the skin."

Usually, dermatologists use high concentrations (30%, 7096) of TCA or AHA for chemical laser resurfacing. However, thanks to the new technology in beauty, to refresh the skin, there are two common types of dermabrasion, one is diamond microdermabrasion, and the other is crystal dermabrasion.

The degree of dermabrasion can be divided into mild dermabrasion, moderate dermabrasion, and severe dermabrasion. Mild dermabrasion mainly refers to crystal microdermabrasion, peeling microdermabrasion, amino acid peeling, hybrid microdermabrasion, diamond microdermabrasion, etc.; moderate microdermabrasion includes laser dermabrasion, seaweed dermabrasion, chemical dermabrasion, etc.; severe dermabrasion is mainly carbolic acid peeling, dot peeling and so on.

What is Microdermabrasion?

Now, we have known what is dermabrasion, it is a skin refresh technology. If the word dermabrasion, add "micro", what is that mean?

It is a mild dermabrasion process, and its mechanism of action is to remove dead skin cells on the surface layer, improve skin regeneration and skin quality, and improve cell tissue at the same time, effectively reducing fine wrinkles, and smoothing certain scars, such as acne, scars and other uneven skin problems.

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that removes the upper layers of the skin through controlled physical exfoliation. Almost all microdermabrasion machine has a suction mechanism to remove sloughed skin as it passes through. It is usually only used on the face, but can sometimes be used on other parts of the body.

What is Crystal Microdermabrasion?

It uses microcrystalline particles to remove dead skin that has lost its luster and vitality on the surface of the skin. Using the principle of epithelial tissue regeneration, the skin will receive the signal of "injury", so as to fill the worn part with intact new cells, and it finally achieves the effect of "skin rejuvenation".

After the crystal microdermabrasion operations, It helps improves the appearance of sun exposure, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scars, melasma, and other skin-related problems and conditions.

Diamond Microdermabrasion

Diamond dermabrasion is a smart improvement on microdermabrasion. It provides a non-surgical skin repair by grinding or wiping away the superficial skin layers with a sterile diamond tip, then vacuuming to remove particles and any dirt and dead skin congestion.

Diamond tips for dermabrasion machine

Appropriate use of diamond dermabrasion, in conjunction with skin care products that penetrate from the surface layer of the skin to the dermis layer, can help replenish natural nutrients, restore cell activity, and promote skin health.

Diamond Microdermabrasion Useful Guides
The diamond tips actually consist of thousands of tiny diamond particles of uniform size. It comes with a variety of tips in different sizes. Which size is better, always depends on the client's individual skin condition. Usually, the "100" is for rough skin, the "200" is for normal skin, and the "300" is for sensitive skin.

Which is Better?

The crystal dermabrasion sprays microcrystals onto the skin to exfoliate, diamond microdermabrasion relies on suction combined with a diamond tip to exfoliate. Increased suction makes the diamond microdermabrasion machine's process stronger, it is ideal for treating old stretch marks or deeper acne scars.

Higher suction levels can be used on body skin as it is less sensitive than facial skin. This is best for back acne, rough elbows, arms, and hands.

Suction also has the added benefit of stimulating collagen and elastin and increasing blood flow to the skin. This provides an instantly restored complexion and a healthy glow, while collagen and elastin build stronger, younger-looking skin.

What's more, diamond microdermabrasion is safer, cause you will never worry about the sand will shoot in your eyes.
