A complete client-facing protocol for abdomen cavitation treatments. From consultation to aftercare.
A 9-minute complete client protocol demonstration: pre-session consultation, treatment delivery, post-session communication.
Treating yourself with cavitation is one thing. Treating paying clients requires a level of structure, communication, and risk management that home users do not need. This is the complete protocol that protects you legally, gives clients consistent results, and builds the loyalty that grows your practice.
How you handle the first 15 minutes (consultation, setting expectations, addressing concerns) determines whether the client comes back. The treatment itself is only 50% of the perceived value.
Every session: signed consent, contraindication checklist completed, before photos, parameters used, post-session response. This protects you if anything goes wrong, and helps you optimize protocols over time.
Standard cavitation abdomen treatment divides the area into 6 zones: upper left, upper right, central upper (above navel), central lower (below navel), lower left, lower right. Treat each zone 2-3 minutes for total session of 12-18 minutes.

Sessions
10-12 over 8-12 weeks
Results after
Session 4-6
Stubborn lower abdominal fat
Classic indication. Best results when client has stable weight.
Post-pregnancy abdomen (over 6 months postpartum)
Excellent candidate after recovery period.
Soft cellulite on lower abdomen
Responds well, especially combined with RF.
Body contouring before special event
Plan minimum 8 weeks ahead for visible results.
| Parameter | Value | Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frequency | 25-30 kHz | 20-40 kHz | First session 20-25 kHz, increase if comfortable |
| Intensity (sessions 1-3) | Level 3-4 | Level 1-7 | Conservative on tolerance-building phase |
| Intensity (sessions 4-12) | Level 5-6 | Level 1-7 | Only if client tolerates well |
| Duration per zone | 3 min | 2-4 min | 6 zones x 3 min = 18 min active treatment |
| Handpiece type | Large body head | - | Medium for tight spots near belt line |
Client undresses to underwear or treatment shorts. Lies supine on bed. Cover non-treatment areas with sheet.
Technique
Always preserve client dignity – only treatment area exposed.
Visual inspection. Take measurements at 3 fixed points. Photograph baseline (with consent). Note any moles, scars, or unusual marks.
Technique
Documentation protects you and tracks progress.
Generous gel layer across the abdomen, completely covering treatment area. About 15-20ml total.
Technique
Warm the gel slightly for client comfort.
Circular motion for 3 minutes. Check client comfort every 60 seconds.
Technique
Avoid the rib cage and lower stomach.
Same technique mirrored.
Continue through remaining zones, 3 minutes each.
Technique
Avoid direct navel pressure. Reduce intensity on lower abdomen if client is bloated.
Light linear strokes toward lymph nodes (groin and underarm direction). 2 minutes total.
Technique
Very light pressure – this is drainage, not treatment.
Wipe gel residue. Give client aftercare card. Schedule next session before they leave.
Technique
Booking next session at the end of current session doubles retention rate.
Hold handpiece flat. Move in slow overlapping circles, each circle covering 50% of the previous one. Speed: about 5cm per second.
Use when
All abdomen zones. Standard technique.
Avoid when
Over bones (ribs, hip bones), over the navel itself.
After cavitation, finish with light linear strokes from outside toward center, then upward toward lymph nodes. Promotes drainage.
Use when
Last 2 minutes of treatment to enhance results.
Avoid when
Should never be the main technique - only finishing.
| Item | Amount | Purpose |

| Gel removal wipes | 3-4 wipes | Clean residual gel from skin and handpiece. |
| Measuring tape | 1 (reusable) | Pre and post measurements for progress tracking. |
