The Science
At 850nm, near-infrared light is invisible but penetrates deeper than visible red lightâthrough skin into subcutaneous tissue, muscle and toward joints. There it is absorbed by mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase, raising ATP production and improving cellular function (photobiomodulation).
The greater depth shifts the emphasis from purely surface skin benefits to deep tissue repair, increased microcirculation, muscle recovery and pain relief, while still supporting collagen.
